  • relate the properties of radio waves to communication .

  1. Use an oscilloscope and observe the characteristics of waves i.e. amplitude, frequency, wavelength and wave velocity.
  2. View charts on electromagnetic spectrum to locate the position of radio waves.
  3. View videos or computer simulations and discuss how the properties of radio waves are applied in communication.
  4. Observe and identify the symbols of the following electronic components in radios:

    (a) resistors,

    (b) capacitors,

    (c) diodes,

    (d) transistors,

    (e) inductors, and

    (f) transformers.
