  1. Carry out an activity to compare and contrast saturated fats and unsaturated fats in terms of:

(a) sources,

(b) states at room temperature,

(c) melting point.

  1. Illustrate the similarities and differences in a graphic organiser.
  2. Gather information from books, newspapers, magazines, Internet or view videos. Present and discuss the effects of consuming food rich in saturated and unsaturated fats on health.

  3. View videos simulations and discuss the process of extracting palm oil from the oil palm fruit.
  4. Gather information and Internet to prepare a folio on:

(a) the uses of palm oil,

(b) nutritional substances found in palm oil such as fats, vitamins and antioxidants.

  1. Gather information on Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) on the research and development of oil palm.
